I was born in Belfast in 1941. A haphazard birth, The Durex split. My child hood was spent in many countries including Hong Kong, Singapore, Cyprus and Egypt.

I married in 1963. We had three boys and adopted a girl foster child.

During my marriage we travelled to West Africa and Dubai in the United Arab Emirates.

I trained as a nurse. It gave me many experiences that included running a clinic in west Africa plus working for 27 years in the film industry as a film unit nurse,

I now have seven grandchildren. A joy.

I lost my husband last year from Parkinson’s disease.

I am 78 years old. It is an interesting age because there is only a small future.

I wanted to write a blog about people my age. There must be so many people out there who are experiencing the same stage of life.
